Last week saw two of our incredible Rochdale member organisations receive the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service. Action Together would like to congratulate local charity Jolly Josh and Community Interest Company, Aspire 2 Inspire Communities on their achievement.
In recent months, thanks to funding from Rochdale Borough Council, we have awarded more than £104,000 to 27 community groups and organisations to support their amazing work addressing food insecurity across Rochdale borough.
LEAP Children, Families & Communities based in Tameside, were absolutely delighted to receive the King’s Award for Voluntary Service this week. This prestigious award, is the highest accolade that a voluntary organisation can receive and is the equivalent of an MBE.
We would like to say a huge congratulations to our member organisation, Support and Action for Women's Network (SAWN), who have successfully achieved Action Together's Quality in Action Award!
At the start of November we were delighted to invite members of Action Together to Deeplish Community Centre for an afternoon launch of two very special, community-led films.
Nestled in the heart of Fitton Hill this community project, a partnership between Oldham Council and Local Food First CIC, seeks to rejuvenate a neglected growing space and fruit orchard, as well as repurpose vandalized buildings, all while nurturing the surrounding nature and wildlife.
The main aim of the project is to improve community access to affordable, healthy food, whilst transforming the allotment and hub into valuable community assets. Notably, the food grown on-site supports the Oldham Foodbank and contributes to a local Community Vegbag scheme.
We are delighted to share the news that our member organisation, KeyRing, have successfully achieved Action Together's Quality in Action Award after demonstrating excellence in every category of the award.
