Play and Engagement Assistant Volunteer

We are looking for enthusiastic, confident and happy people to support the Hub Team to provide a safe environment to deliver exciting activities for children / young people and their families. We are looking for volunteers, who would like to provide practical support to our volunteer programme and will be able to commit for at least 12 months for a minimum 2-5 hours a week (times will vary depending on the role)

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

Typical tasks may include:
• Support Oasis staff to promote Oasis activities / services.
• To support the delivery of a successful holiday HAF club or family event as part of Oasis Community Hub: Oldham
• Assisting the Oasis team in the planning, preparation, and delivery of Oasis interventions / universal services e.g. Tots stay and play groups,
• Building positive relationships with families
• To support the setting up of equipment / resources ready for activities.
• To support children / adults to actively participate in activities.
• To work as part of a team to tidy up after each session.
• To prepare and cook food if required. (Subject to holding an up-to-date Food Hygiene certificate)
• To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people you come into contact with.
• To give support to other team members within the community hub /activity and to follow the instructions of the management team
• To be aware of and act in accordance with current legislation good practice, Oasis policies and procedures.
• To promote the high standards of Oasis Community Hub at all times to parents staff volunteers and visitors.
• To actively participate in the evaluation of each event.
