Prudence Trust - What’s Working for Young People’s Mental Health?

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to support evaluation work for youth mental health organisations to help them to better understand the impact of their work, and find out how they can improve, and increase the standard of evaluation.

Who can apply? UK registered or exempt charities and community interest companies can apply:

Organisations must:

  • Have an annual income greater than £250,000.
  • Work mostly with young people aged 11-25 and have a clear focus on their mental health as a primary outcome of their support.
  • Where a proposal is linked to a particular service, has already been running for at least two years and must have secured sufficient funding to ensure the programme runs for the duration of the proposed evaluation.

Priority will be given to groups that:

  • Display a culture of curiosity and are interested in collecting data and using it to find out how they can improve.
  • Propose projects that have a clear strategic purpose for the organisation.
  • Have a senior leadership that is committed to learning from the evaluation.
  • Have a proposal that is useful and actionable, with a clear output at the end of the grant period.

Grant amount: There is a total funding pot of approximately £1 million.

Around five to eight grants of between £10,000 to £200,000 per year for up to two years are available.
