The Quality in Action Award is a recognised framework for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations working across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside to prove their impact. The award is an independent, local seal of approval which publicly demonstrates commitment to safeguarding, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Oldham Boxing and Personal Development Centre is more than just a boxing gym, the centre is about personal development for local people. They run various courses and personal development programmes within the community and offer advice and support to help you achieve goals and ambitions.
Zaheen, Oldham Boxing, said "It feels great to have achieved the Quality in Action Award from Action Together. It is a validation of the hard work and dedication of staff and volunteers. It demonstrates to the community that we are committed to providing high quality services.
This award will help our organisation as it will allow us to apply for grants and put on events for the youth of Oldham. It shows our commitment to quality assurance, continuous improvement and it demonstrates that we are a well run and effective organisation. The award demonstrates that Oldham Boxing is a good place to work.
I would tell other organisations that they should definitely complete the Quality in Action Award. It can help your organisation to improve its performance. There is a lot of support available to help you through the process. The award can help you to identify areas of improvement for your organisation.
I would like to give a special shout out to Jane Glaysher-White, without her help we wouldn't have been able to achieve the award. She helped us every step of the way and was there to answer any questions we had. She went above and beyond to make sure we achieved the award. She was even kind enough to come down and drop off the framed Quality in Action Award."
How can my organisation apply for the Quality in Action Award?
You'll work alongside one of our dedicated Development Officers to meet criteria that ensures your organisation has the right things in place, with practical advice, resources and support to help you develop the policies and procedures that are right for you. The QiAA is free and open to groups of any size. By achieving the award you'll be able to demonstrate to local commissioners, funders, beneficiaries and other stakeholders that you are delivering quality activities and services.
