Retailer provides clothing for crisis support organisations.
Greater Manchester retailer N Brown has made an incredible donation to Action Together.
The company have donated 1,824 items of clothing, to be shared amongst seven organisations supporting people across Oldham borough.
N Brown, one of the top 10 clothing digital retailers in the UK, is home to brands including JD Williams, Simply B and Jacamo. The company picked and boxed the clothing, providing vulnerable people in Oldham with much needed items. Phil Barnes, Director of Supply Chain at N Brown, said:
“We are really pleased to be able to support a series of local charities. As a local business with many colleagues who work and live in the Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside area, we know what a challenging time this is for many people and in a small way this is an opportunity for us to be able to provide some essential items to try and make life slightly easier for people.”
Part of Action Together’s role is to connect local groups and charities with opportunities, funding and support. This infrastructure role is even more essential during the coronavirus pandemic. Our team worked with crisis support organisations in Oldham to assess clothing needs, then connected these needs with N Brown to secure the donation.
Laura Windsor-Welsh, Strategic Locality Lead for Action Together said:
“We are so grateful to Phil and his team at N Brown for getting in touch and offering their support to our local charities and community groups who are seeing first-hand the impact that the pandemic is having on our communities. These essential items will make such a difference and I’m so pleased we were able to connect up and co-ordinate this incredible offer of support.”
