Moving More in Everyday Life Fund

Aims/Priorities:

Rochdale Local Pilot is funded by Sport England and delivered by charitable trust and leisure provider, Your Trust. Data from the 2018 Active Lives Survey identified Rochdale as the most inactive borough in Greater Manchester. In response to this, over the past three years, the Local Pilot programme has been working to increase physical activity and ‘moving more’ within the borough, particularly among those who move the least.

Small grants of up to £2,000 are available to support projects to enable people to keep Moving More in Everyday Life (e.g. Playing, Nature Walks, Dance, Walking perhaps alongside a hobby such as photography, drawing or bird watching).

We are looking to support new projects across Communities in the Borough of Rochdale which use an innovative and creative approach, to encouraging targeted audiences to move more in their everyday lives, helping to address social and health inequalities.  You must be able to demonstrate that there is a need for the project and it embraces innovation.

The project must target at least one of the following audiences:

  • Unemployed
  • People aged 40-60 years who are at risk of a long term health condition
  • Children and Young Peoples Physical Activity out of school (aged 5-18 years)

Who can apply?

  • you are a voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) group locally rooted or actively working in the borough of Rochdale; and
  • you are a member of Action Together CIO (you can register for free to become a member here); and
  • you are formally constituted; or can evidence that you are actively working towards this.
