About the host organisation
Hosted by: Lindley Educational TrustOrganisation Profile:Lindley Educational Trust is a charity based in the Derbyshire Peak District and is a nationally renowned and respected provider of outdoor learning.
Over 3 years ago, funding was secured so that we could start to do some much needed Youth Work in the area of Tameside. This was because the previous youth provision had been stopped due to lack of funding.
Now, 3 years on we have an established youth provision for young people providing 4 youth clubs every week, working with over 120 young people weekly - funded by BBC Children In Need. We are based in the St Peter’s ward of Ashton-Under-Lyne.
We take various groups of young people on residentials, mountaineering trips to Scotland and climbing. We use the great outdoors as a tool to engage young people in activities that builds their confidence, self-esteem and raise their aspirations for the future.
