So far the Co-op has donated five million meals to food charities by raising money for FareShare. We have now launched our new Food campaign to help those going hungry. From now until 25 August, when customers buy products from our 3 for 2 picnic offer, the Co-op will donate 20p to the National Emergencies Trust (NET).

Funds raised will be distributed to local grassroots projects across the UK which are helping people gain access to food, for example through programmes that support groups to nutritious and balanced meals or food redistribution programmes.

The Co-op group would like to encourage local groups to upload their details on Co-operate a new platform to help groups considered for future access to food support.

For the second part of the campaign the Co-op will be encouraging people to volunteer and support causes involved with access to food in their local communities. Local community groups can upload their details to Co-operate and enable potential volunteers to find them.
